There’s a popular saying, “A good compromise leaves both sides unhappy.” But like, that’s the case with bad compromises too, right? This saying isn’t actually saying anything – if one side’s happy and the other one isn’t, it’s not a compromise! The saying is just, “compromise leaves both sides unhappy,” and that’s barely one step away from just defining the word, “compromise!”

And if you can make a compromise that makes both sides happy, surely that’s a better compromise? Or is that even a compromise anymore? It’s just… a fair transaction?
