“Tell me this is the ‘Good Old Days,’ will he? Well, I’ll show that asshole! “

– A surprisingly versatile quote for any decision this guy chooses to make going forward

In the finale to The Office, Andy Bernard says he wishes there was a way to know if you were in the good old days before you left them. Everyone treats that as a heartwarming sentiment about appreciating what you’ve been through, but I found it pretty existentially dreadful. Imagine, you’re just living your life, and an omniscient voice tells you “It will never get any better than this!” Unless you’re literally in some impossibly amazing scenario where you would think “Yeah, that sounds about right,”  what are you supposed to do with that information? Good luck with any remaining dreams or aspirations you have left, you’re either never achieving them or they’re not worth what you think they are!
