What slander! The Emperor is glorious and eternal and incapable of death, he has  simply ascended beyond his physical body!

– The Bureau of Truth’s letter of disapproval for this story

I was always dissatisfied with the lack of worldbuilding in The Emperor’s New Clothes. Did the tailors do this with every head of state on the continent, or was this their first big break? How long has the emperor ruled and what’s the extent of his power? What happened to the child who called him out and were they adequately dealt with? Such sloppy writing, Hans Christian Andersen.
