I’ve been trying desperately to avoid aging into a curmudgeon who hates new things just because they go against my preconceived notions of what “should” be. For example, I’ve tried to fully embrace a descriptivist approach to language – if society begins using certain words in a way that they didn’t before, then that’s simply a natural evolution in our language and not some aberration that must be stopped. But then I see people refer to my (and others’) comics as “memes” and I can only accept it in silence as another piece of my soul dissolves into oblivion.
