– What part of me wants to hear from tech support, even though it wouldn’t help me at all

I generally consider myself to be above average in terms of computer literacy, but I try not to be judgmental of those who need tech support for very simple issues. I always feel like it’s just a matter of time before I’m the old-fashioned guy who was left behind by technological progress and suddenly I won’t even be able to operate a simple app that four year olds can manage with ease. So far, I’ve been able to solve most of my problems myself with some internet research, but I dread the day I exhaust my personal expertise and have to call for outside help, only to have tech support tell me my attempted solutions actually made things worse.
